Great Relationships - Delivering For London Gateway

Located in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, London Gateway is a deep seaport and logistics park with warehousing facilities – facilitating the efficient and safe offloading of some of the world’s largest vessels.

Brett Landscaping has been working with Tolly Paving, block paving specialists, to supply the London Gateway project with Zeta Lock paving, a type of block paving that is specifically designed for heavy duty applications such as ports, container yards, and airports. Brett Landscaping and Tolly Paving have been providing block paving to various projects at London Gateway since 2013, supplying and installing over 230,000m2 of Zeta Lock paving over the last 11 years.

The most recent supply of Zeta Lock paving is for an additional berth to create a robust platform on which stacking containers will be offloaded from cargo ships, with Tolly Paving installing significant volumes of paving per day to cover the extensive berth areas within the port itself.

Mark Barter, Head of Commercial Sales at Brett Landscaping, said: “We have been working on this project with Tolly paving for a number of years, it was great to work with them again to supply paving for this new phase. The logistical challenge of supplying blocks to site at the required pace was efficiently managed by the team at Brett Landscaping who ensured large batches of paving were made in advance and a sufficient number of vehicles were available to handle the large quantities required. A lot of hard work went into supplying this project, well done to the entire team.”

Mark Pointer of Tolly Paving commented: “Zeta Lock block paving from Brett Landscaping was the clear product solution that could effectively withstand the high level of heavy goods trafficking and rotational movements of the reach stackers on the dockside. Ease of installation and maintenance, combined with its ability to tolerate a degree of differential settlement of the pavement and the confidence in a supplier that could deliver such significant volumes of paving within the strict project timescales.”

Mark Barter continues: “We’re proud of the relationships we’ve built with Tolly Paving over the years and we’re happy to hear that the customer was delighted with the product and service.”
