Brett 110 - A Helping Hand With Bonfire Night

Daniel Elphick and Ray Woodger from Brett Concrete, along with Matt Harvey from MPH Construction, spent their volunteer day helping to set up a fireworks display at Burham Church of England Primary School. The school's PTFA is made up of parent volunteers, family members of children within the school as well as members of the teaching staff.

Dan says, "The aim of the PTFA is to hold fundraising events such as the Firework Display, Summer Fair and the Christmas Fair. The money raised is then used by the school so that they can purchase additional educational and play items that have been requested by the headteacher and teaching staff. Such items might otherwise be financially out of reach."

The school's current project is to raise funds to purchase a minibus.

One of the first tasks of the day was to set out the fireworks area and exclusion zones, the team then cleared all of the access/egress routes for the parents and children to use during the evening, which included setting up all of the lighting around the pedestrian areas.

The evening display of fireworks went very well and was enjoyed by those who attended.

The school was very grateful for the help to set up the event and the donation.
