Brett 110 - Getting Creative in Staines

Sakina Dowling and Katie Jones from Brett Aggregates London and Home Counties Area spent their volunteering day at The Hythe School in Staines, helping to organise the new art room which has just been built.

Katie said "When we arrived the room didn’t look anything like a class room, but we cleared the rubbish and anything not needed from the room and the corridor just outside. We carried tables and chairs in and arranged them with the help of the teacher then set about making and laminating labels for all of her boxes on the shelves using words and pictures so that children of all abilities can recognise what is in each box.  By the time we left the room looked like a classroom and the teacher was hoping to start using the room the next day."

The Hythe School is a primary school is a Community School located in Staines, Middlesex, teaching Primary students aged between 4 and 11 years of age.
