Brett 110 - Retreat Into Wonderland Animal Sanctuary

Liam Petts and Karl Flockhart from Brett Aggregates spent their volunteering day helping out at an animal sanctuary in Herne Bay, Kent. The Retreat Into Wonderland Sanctuary looks after a range of animals from ducks, pigs and donkeys to hedgehogs, guinea pigs and llamas and is open to the general public.

Karl and Liam helped Jo and Jen who run the sanctuary by installing new pond liners for the duck enclosure using a tonne of building sand and building a new metal duck coup. They also moved an existing pig shelter to a new location in preparation for the arrival of two new pigs and put up a brand new shelter which had just been delivered. Liam and Karl also helped with general maintenance around the site which caught the interest of some of the animals who came over to ‘help out’. Both Liam and Karl’s help was much appreciated by the charity.
