Brett 110 - Making Friends At The Dogs Trust, Canterbury

Lesley Bond, Kevin Coburn, Ian Crofts and Tracey Heath from Robert Brett House recently spent a day helping out at the Dogs Trust Centre in Canterbury.

The Dogs Trust gives temporary accommodation and care to dogs looking for their forever home. The dogs come to the centre for many different reasons, they may have been abandoned or mistreated, or their owners may have passed away, or their family circumstances may have changed and their owners can no longer look after them. There are a range of breeds and ages looking for adoption or a new permanent family environment.

The charity not only attends to their basic needs but also helps to rehabilitate some of the dogs through training so they can live happily once again in a family environment.

The team spent the day walking the dogs, making toys, helping with general maintenance in the grounds including raking up seven barrows of acorns and clearing a blocked brook.

The team also presented a cheque for £440 to the charity which will go towards ongoing care for the dogs.
