Introducing Our New Secondary Aggregate
Brett Aggregates has an exclusive arrangement to market a new Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA), produced at Fortis’s new state-of-the-art Ridham Dock processing facility next to the Brett site.
IBAA is a product that is recovered and processed from energy generating facilities that use nonrecyclable domestic waste otherwise sent to landfill. The process diverts 750 black bags per tonne away from landfill, uses recycled materials, and offers an overall reduction in CO₂.
Fortistone can be used in used instead of primary aggregate in a variety of civil engineering and construction settings as bulk fill, trench fill and sub-bases, and as road paving and construction blocks.
The Fortistone production cycle diverts 750 black bags of household waste away from landfill per tonne and supports a ‘circular economy’
Ross Powell, Technical Sales Manager at Brett Aggregates says “Fortistone IBA Aggregate is proving very popular with ground workers who are using it as both capping and sub-base. We work closely with the teams on each project and visit the sites to ensure the best technical spec is provided to suit the project or project conditions.”
