Brett 110 - Alresford Kitten and Feral Rescue Centre
Rachel Bruce, Transport Administrator at Brett Concrete in Alresford, spent her volunteering day helping out with the cleaning at Alresford Kitten and Feral Rescue. The rescue has been run by Brenda Davy for over 20 years and relies solely upon contributions of food, supplies and monetary donations from supporters and also donations from those who adopt cats or kittens from her.
As well rehoming stray, unwanted or homeless cats and kittens that come into the rescue centre, Brenda also works in partnership with other local animal charities such as Cat’s Protection and the RSPCA in the capture, neuter and release / rehoming of feral cats. This is often a thankless task that requires many hours of work, dedication and funding.
Rachel has been volunteering her time to the rescue for over a year and despite falling in love with many cats and kittens over that time, she still only has the one cat at home – totally undeserving of the Crazy Cat Lady label her colleagues have given her!!
