Podplus 3 Lakes 5k Raises £2000

The second year of the Podplus three lakes 5k Charity event took place on Sunday 4th July in glorious weather at the Julie Rose Stadium.

The second year of the Podplus three lakes 5k Charity event took place on Sunday 4th July in glorious weather at the Julie Rose Stadium. 239 entrants took part walking, jogging and running around the three Conningbrook lakes, finishing up back at the Julie Rose and covering land made available by Brett to the local community.

The lakes and stadium were created in 1997 from a part of the Brett Conningbrook Quarry and restored by the company to establish a superb fishing lake and build the internationally acclaimed Julie Rose Stadium.

The 5k route gives a unique opportunity to experience the fabulous countryside around Ashford, passing through some public byways and entering across private land owned by Brett Group, which is usually not accessible to the public. All the entry fees went directly to raising money for the Kent Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Canterbury and the Kennington Scout Group, who are both raising vital funds to build new premises.

Podplus Sports Shop and Injury Clinic organised and hosted the highly successful event with the help of not only all the entrants, but also a number of local businesses. Brett Aggregates helped to secure the route around the three Conningbrook Lakes, Printing.com provided 10,000 entry forms, Cross of Kent Art supplied the prize winners photo’s, PK Produce the finishing fruit and notjustcakes.co.uk with 300 finishing cup cakes.
