Brett Delivers For Key Phases Of Chatham Waterfront Development

Chatham Waterfront is a new housing development delivering modern apartments, community spaces and commercial units along Chatham’s riverside in Kent. It forms part of a wider regeneration initiative to revitalise the town’s residential and business areas, transport links, and leisure facilities.

For several years, Brett has been supplying various sites in the area with concrete and landscaping materials. Brett Concrete were initially involved in local projects, supplying over 10,000m3 of standard and specialist concrete mixes for the foundations, basements, and lift pits of two residential buildings.

Most recently, Brett Landscaping supplied 4,200m² of Lugano and 250m² of Invicta block paving for the forecourts surrounding a riverside apartment building. The materials were used across pathways, ramps, stairs, and communal outdoor areas.

On top of new modern homes, the development includes a public square, and an enhanced riverside park designed to offer inviting spaces for both residents and visitors - featuring open courtyards, scenic walkways, and step-free accessible areas.

Ant Spencer, Civils Sales Manager at Brett Landscaping, said: “We worked closely with the contractors to meet their specific requirements for a product that looks great and could accommodate the heavy footfall associated with community areas. After discussions with the teams on site, we recommended a mix of Lugano and Invicta paving to deliver the durability and high-quality finish needed, whilst managing costs effectively.”

At the design stage Ant and team at Brett Landscaping’s Cliffe lab set about assembling a full sample panel in the required laying pattern and specification. Typically this process takes a week or longer, but the lab technicians went the extra mile to complete, clean and deliver it within just 48 hours, ensuring the customer could review and approve the materials without delay. Ant commented: “It was a fantastic team effort from everyone involved.
