Full Steam Ahead For Charity Charter Train At Newhaven

Recently the team at Newhaven were hosts to a train filled with rail enthusiasts who made their way into site as a part of a charity event.

The visit, organised by GB Railfreight (GBRf) and supported by Brett, was to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK in memory of former GBRf colleague Paul Taylor. Paul was well known for organising numerous charity fundraising charter trains which raised over £500,000 for good causes.

The train’s path took passengers on a tour along the South Coast, with one of the stops at Brett Aggregates’ Newhaven site where the passengers were able to see a fully operational site from the comfort of the train.

Dave Isham, Area Production Manager at Brett Aggregates, said: “We had a great day on site, when the train turned up and we started all the machines up everyone onboard gave us a cheer. We had some great feedback from the visitors, and it was nice to see everyone looking out of the windows and waving at us. At Brett we work to be closely involved in our community and we’re proud to have been involved in supporting such positive cause.”
