Building Materials For Big Ideas: Supporting The Expansion Of Silverstone Park

More than 3,500m² of Invicta permeable block paving has been supplied by Brett Landscaping and Building Products as part of the ongoing development of Silverstone Park. Located next to the Silverstone Circuit, the 285-acre business park is home to around 90 organisations working across sectors including aerospace, automotive, defence, energy and scientific research.

As the park continues to grow, new offices and facilities are being created to support the businesses and people based there. The latest phase of the expansion will increase the capacity of the park by 102,000 square feet, and includes new offices, alongside a nursery, gym and café for the growing community of people who work on-site.

Each of these new facilities had to be connected by pedestrian walkways, with enough parking to support the people working in the area. Both needed to sit comfortably within the park’s modern surroundings while also withstanding regular use by employees, visitors and those travelling to the neighbouring circuit.

Invicta paving was selected in three complementary colours - Onyx, Moonstone, and Pearl - to create a consistent finish across the walkways and parking areas. Permeable paving was also used within the car parks, as its design allows rainfall to pass through the paved surface and be stored below before gradually dispersing, helping the development manage surface water as part of its drainage system.
