Brett 110 - Volunteering For Age Concern

Maria Smith, Val Morey and Jemma Palushi from Brett Aggregates spent the day volunteering at Age UK in Faversham. The team served tea, coffee and toast at breakfast, then put on a quiz and a raffle for everyone to enjoy before preparing and serving lunch. In the afternoon they dished up cream tea with homemade scones while everyone sang along and had a dance with a volunteer band called The Useless Pluckers.

Age UK offer a wide range of services for people over 50 including helping those living with physical or mental challenges, such as Dementia to retain their independence in their own home. Age UK run day centres and drop in cafes around the county which are staffed by volunteers.

The Faversham branch intend to use the donation of £330 to invest in a new bingo machine and games for the day centre.
