Brett 110 - Rainbows on a Rainy Day
Tracey Moon at Brett Landscaping, Cliffe, spent her day volunteering for the local Rainbows Group. Rainbows is a division of the Girl Guides for younger children aged 5-7.
Tracey says, "I volunteer with the local Rainbow group, I have done for a year and a half, we meet every Wednesday, the girls range from 5-7 and then they move onto Brownies, Rainbows learn by doing – they get their hands dirty, do sports, arts and crafts and play games. Being a Rainbow is all about having the space to try new things."
Through taking part in a range of different activities with girls their own age, the aim is for them to develop self-confidence, learn new skills and make lots of new friends.
The group spent the day at the Fenn Bell Conservation Project in Rochester.
Tracey commented, "We rode the safari train, learnt about many endangered animals, went on the bouncy castle and even snuggled a sheep, everyone agreed even though it poured we had a great (albeit a very damp) time. A big thank you from us all."
