Brett Aggregates Helps Deliver Pinewood Studios Extension

Construction of a £200m extension to Pinewood Studios is moving forward at a rapid pace and Brett Aggregates has been involved in phase one of this exciting project, working with Hillstreet Construction to meet the tight delivery schedule.

The Pinewood Studios Development Framework (PSDF) as it is know is a major development which will see the addition of five new stages, ten workshops, production offices and the associated infrastructure and landscaping, significantly expanding the capacity of Pinewood Studios to accommodate major feature films, television programmes, commercials and other screen-based productions.

“We worked with Hillstreet Construction, right from the tender stage,” explains Daniel Haw, Sales Manager, London & Home Counties for Brett Aggregates. “Together we designed product and logistic solutions that helped Hillstreet to win the contract, and that collaboration has continued successfully throughout the project.”

A mix of primary and recycled aggregate, c50,000 tonnes, has been supplied by Brett Aggregates into the Pinewood Studios contract to date and around 19,000 tonnes of engineering material has been taken out and will be reused in a restoration project at the company’s Park Lodge site.

“This has been a real team effort,” continues Daniel. “From the operations team at Park Lodge, to the transport department in Faversham and the whole London and Home Counties sales team, our people have worked closely with Hillstreet Construction personnel to enable the successful delivery of this major contract.
