Restoration
In 1970 we won our first Restoration Award for the Sand and Gravel Association (SAGA) for our work at Littleton Lane, Shepperton. Since then we have gone on to win 51 awards from local council and industry bodies including the presigious Cooper-Heyman Cup 5 times.
In the forty plus years since the Quarry Products Association introduced the Cooper-Heyman Cup, it hasn't necessarily been awarded every year, demonstrating that a particularly high standard is needed to succeed.
In 2009, the one-off 40th anniversary trophy for the best Cooper-Heyman Cup winner since the Scheme began was presented to Laleham Farm. This former sand and gravel quarry in Staines, Middlesex, now part of Brett Group, was chosen because of its careful restoration to immaculate farmland involving the careful handling and replacement of topsoils across the site. There are also wildlife corridors and a small lake attracting ducks, geese, amphibians and dragonflies.
