Getting Involved In Our Local Communities

At Brett it’s important that we remain closely involved in supporting the local communities in which we operate, and we’re proud to have Brett people who also show great willingness to get involved.

Brett has recently sponsored Betteshanger FC under 9’s football team, a part of the Betteshanger Welfare Youth Football Club (YFC) based in Deal, Kent, which runs football activities and teams for children aged four and up.

The young football stars have developed well alongside their current coach Aiden Marsh and Brett Aggregates’ employee and surveying manager, Jon Carnell who joined the team in October 2022. Jon received his coaching qualification this year, allowing him to assist the under 9’s team to support the club’s coaches, who have commitments to various Betteshanger FC youth teams.

Jon said, “Many of our Betteshanger Under 9’s players have played together since the age of 4, starting in the free Minnows academy sessions which allows the kids to develop fitness, skills, knowledge of the game, and most importantly make friends and have fun.”

Over the last year the under 9’s squad has had great performances, with their participation in local summer tournament hosted by Deal Town Rangers in which the team took third place. Their successes stacked up throughout the year and the team received a much-deserved promotion from division 4 to division 3.

Jon further commented on his role saying: “Seeing the kids enjoying themselves and building relationships is the best part of coaching, helping them grow in a sport they love and watching them develop is an honour to be part of.”
