Brett Landscaping And Building Products Launch New Concrete Facing Bricks Product Range
Brett Landscaping and Building Products has introduced its latest product - the Stonehurst Concrete Facing Brick. Developed to meet the changing needs of customers, the Stonehurst range offers a reduction in carbon emissions, lower costs, and bricks that are more convenient for housebuilders to lay.
Jose Carles, Head of Technical Operations at Brett Landscaping and Building Products, explains the sustainable advantages of concrete bricks: “The Stonehurst range is made from traditional concrete ingredients cement, sand, aggregates, and water, which requires less energy to cure than traditional clay bricks – which need high-energy kilns, running at over 800 degrees, to fire.”
As well as providing carbon and cost reductions, the Stonehurst range offers precise and consistent measurements, since its production uses less heat, avoiding the slight variations in size and shape caused by high-temperature manufacturing. This predictability helps house builders lay the bricks more easily, saving time on site.
Brett Landscaping and Building Products’ Stonehurst bricks are available in five popular colours used by UK house builders - Redstone, Amberstone, Redstone Multi, Greystone, and Merlotstone.
The range also comes in a choice of smooth or textured finishes.
Jose continued: “Our teams at Barrow and Cliffe collaborated on this project, adapting our existing machinery to accommodate the new product. The spray booth on the production line was designed in house by our technical teams before being manufactured externally. It was a real team effort.”
Mark Barter, Head of Commercial Sales at Brett Landscaping and Building Products, said: “We have developed the Stonehurst range in conjunction with house builders, applying our history of technical expertise and high product quality used in manufacturing our block paving to a new brief. We are already supplying Stonehurst bricks to housebuilding projects such as the development of 75 new houses in Exeter – a first of many opportunities we will be supplying.”
