Brett Concrete Supplies Ramsgate Regeneration Project
Brett Concrete have supplied materials to Carty Forde at Ramsgate, who are developing an exhibition centre that includes shops and food outlets, a 60-bed hotel, and 106 luxury apartments by the sea front.
The project, headed by developer Blueberry Homes, is part of a major regeneration scheme that aims to transform Ramsgate into one of Kent’s premier destinations, while also driving economic growth.
The main plot had been left empty since the former funfair was destroyed by fire in 1998, while years of inaction and ownership issues left the site derelict and neglected. The £50 million redevelopment is expected to transform the seafront location, meeting the surge of interest in Kent costal property.
Works for the development are well underway, with Brett Concrete having supplied 3,538m3 of material, including a specialist C32/40 Hydro-Crete waterproof concrete pump mix. The specialist mix was chosen as it offers better resistance to structural corrosion, which is especially beneficial for properties on waterfronts.
Brett Concrete has completed the first phase of the concrete supply, and have moved into the second. The initial wave of apartments – ranging in price from around £400k to £750k – have already been sold thanks to significant interest. The second phase of allocated apartments are now for sale as well, with five of the twenty-one apartments already reserved off-plan. The third phase is currently in progress, and is anticipating equally high demand.
“To already be launching phase three properties for Royal Sands Ramsgate almost 12 months ahead of schedule is testament to its prime beachfront positioning, uninterrupted sea views, private parking, and culture-rich location as well as Thanet’s easy access to London,” said a
Blueberry Homes spokesperson.
“Demand is higher than we could have ever imagined when we began this project to help restore and regenerate Ramsgate’s seafront, proving Ramsgate as a desirable coastal relocation spot.”
