Brett Concrete's FLOWTEC Floor Screed Is On A Roll!

Brett Concrete has seen a recent surge in demand for its FLOWTEC flowing floor screed range, which has been used in projects such as doctor’s surgeries, shopping centres and in domestic homes.

Toby Collins Brett Concrete’s new Technical Sales Manager explains , “the free-flowing screed gives a flawless surface ready for any floor covering also cures quickly, making installation quick, easy and cost-efficient for the customer. The product is always designed and mixed to the highest technical specifications (and meet BS EN 13813), and is available in a cement or anhydrite-based formula.

FLOWTEC’s performance has been demonstrated recently in a trio of recent projects in domestic, commercial and public sector construction.

NHS Surgery, Tenterden, Kent

In Tenterden, Kent, the old NHS Ivy Court Surgery was undergoing major £2.7 million reconstruction, led by main contractor Jenner, to create a modern, fit-for-purpose healthcare centre to deliver improved primary care provision for the town.

The new surgery has underfloor heating throughout its three storeys, and a screed solution was needed that could be laid much thinner than traditional screed due to site requirements. Partnering with EJS Flooring Solutions who completed the prep work in two days, Brett supplied more than 20 cubic metres of Flowtec for two floors in a single day with a further day for the top floor.

Zara, Bluewater Shopping Centre, Dartford, Kent

At Bluewater Shopping Centre, Brett teamed up with Longfloor to supply contractor Flow Screed Services Surrey for a major new store installation for fashion retailer Zara. A total of 90 cubic metres of Longfloor’s cementitious Integracure screed was delivered by four mixer trucks supplying two pumps.

Quick curing times and compatibility with most adhesives were the main reasons why a cement-based product was chosen. Integracure can also save time as ensures consistent drying and an even finish without the need for a curing agent to be applied after installation.

House renovation, Bexhill, East Sussex

Product quality and customer service were key factors in the decision by Crawley-based SSR Flow Screed to choose Brett for a domestic renovation project near Bexhill, East Sussex.

The total floor area of 200 square metres was completed with two loads of 6 cubic metres of Longfloor’s Integracure flowing cement-based screed. In addition to quick drying times and adhesion characteristics, the product needed to flow around underfloor heating pipes without leaving any voids to ensure maximum heat transfer – much quicker to achieve than with a traditional sand-and-cement screed.
