Provian Receives Health & Safety Award For Isle Of Grain LNG Terminal Expansion

15/04/2011

Provian has been awarded the Health, Safety & Environment Excellence Award by client CB&I, following completion of the £500 million liquified natural gas (LNG) terminal expansion on the Isle of Grain, Kent.

On site between May 2007 and October 2010, Provian worked on a variety of elements for the project for CB&I – a global provider of engineering, procurement and construction for the energy and natural resource industries – and end client, National Grid.

As part of the project, Provian completed structural concrete work for the creation of bases for pipelines, construction of concrete roads and footpaths, drainage lagoons and site excavations, temporary works, erection of steel frame building, cladding, mechanical and electrical fit out.

Now complete, the Isle of Grain terminal has the capacity to process almost 15 million tonnes of LNG a year, equivalent to 54 million cubic metres of gas every day. Delivered to the highest standards, as recognised by the award from CB&I, Provian Construction has further enhanced its reputation as one of the leading construction companies in the South East.
