Client: Viridor Waste Management Location: Shelford Landfill, Canterbury Value: £1,000,000 Form of Contract: ICE 7th Edition Actual Contract Duration: 26wks Year of Completion: 2005 Provian Earthworks completed the preparation of new landfill cells for Viridor Waste Management at Shelford Landfill site in Canterbury. The £1million contract involved the extraction and movement of 450000m³ of soils, complete lining to the new cells and capping of old cells, which were full to capacity. 33000m² of HDPE welded plastic liner was used to protect the land from leachate contamination. Provian Earthworks have worked on this site for 11 years, continually preparing, lining and capping cells. Recent works include the construction of a new access road to the site and they have returned to the site to complete the 2007 works.
