Client: Shepway District Council Location: Ross Way, Folkestone Value: £800,000 Form of Contract: NEC Target Cost Actual Contract Duration: 20wks Year of Completion: 2005 Continuing the drive on waste management Provian Construction ‘s Civil Engineering department successfully completed this waste handling facility for Shepway District Council. The 20-week programme completed using the New Engineering Contract (NEC), which allowed cost savings to be identified and implemented, involved the demolition of buildings and the refurbishment of existing buildings to house the new material recycling plant for the Council’s operator Cleanaway. The facility incorporates balers and can crushers for recycling paper, plastic, steel and aluminium. Our Building Small Works and Surfacing were also utilised within the works for the refurbishment of welfare facilities and the upgrading of the existing yard to form a freighter yard and car park.
