Client: EDF Energy Location: Maidstone, Kent Value: £0.5 million Form of Contract: ICE 7th Edition with EDF conditions Actual Contract Duration: 30wks Year of Completion: 2004 Provian Construction successfully completed the construction of the new 33KV primary substation at the Waterside site in Maidstone for EDF Energy. The works involved the construction of a new switch house and substantial reinforced concrete and transformer bases. Also included in the contract were brick blast walls, ducting, drainage, sheet piled wall, bearing piles and a new access road. This site receives electricity from the National Grid and transforms it to the required voltage to serve the residential and commercial properties in and around the Maidstone area.
