Client: Dover District Council Location: Walmer – Kingsdown, Deal Value: £80,000 Actual Contract Duration: 3weeks Year of Completion: 2006 As part of Dover District Councils ongoing Coastal Protection Strategy Provian Earthworks have successfully completed the recharging of beach material at Kingsdown in Deal. Approximately 10000m³ of beach shingle was excavated from the beach at Walmer Castle, transported to Kingsdown by road, tipped into a stockpile area before being reloaded onto dumptrucks and deposited and spread onto the beach in front of the seawall.
The works were completed on programme and within budget.
