Building a Reputation for Recycled Materials
12/01/2009
Building on the success of projects such as the A249 Iwade Bypass, Brett Aggregates won the contract to supply a major groundworks project at Gazeley Park near Sittingbourne in Kent.
The £50 million warehouse development will provide 920,000 sq ft of warehouse space, ultimately to be used by Morrisons to service its South East stores.
The sustainable approach of the development involved sourcing and providing more than 100,000 tonnes in total of recycled product for main contractor, Fitzpatrick.
The local area was scoured to find suitable materials from highway refurbishments and demolition sites to meet the projects sustainability criteria.
