Acquisition propels Brett to Number Two position in UK concrete block paving market
Brett Landscaping and Building Products has acquired Tarmac TopPave in an undisclosed deal that puts Brett Landscaping and Building Products at number two in the UK concrete block paving market.
Tarmac TopPave’s product range will be integrated into Brett Group’s division, Brett Landscaping and Building Products, with Tarmac retaining the TopPave name.
Brett Landscaping and Building Products has doubled in size over the last five years and it will now have a turnover of £60 million. Concrete block paving is a key market sector for the company and Brett is committed to maintaining its position as a strong player in the home and garden markets.
Brett Landscaping and Building Products is the number one UK manufacturer of the innovative containment and re-directional kerb system, Trief®, the leading bus stop kerb Kassel®, and Durite®, especially the Canterbury Spar dry-dashing. It also manufactures the leading, innovative, in-house designed T-flow® concrete block permeable paving which was used in the Sixfields site in Northampton which is Europe’s largest construction scheme of 56,000m² of laid permeable paving.

Brett Landscaping and Building Products’ range will be supplemented with TopPave products and services, especially the Approved Installer Scheme. A new integrated offer under the Brett Landscaping and Building Products brand will be launched for 2007.
Brett Landscaping and Building Products will continue to supply TopPave’s products and services to TopPave stockists and approved installers for the remainder of 2006.
TopPave’s site at Poole, Dorset will become one of Brett Landscaping and Building Products’ core manufacturing, distribution and customer service centres along with its existing sites at Cliffe and Barrow, and the newly acquired site at Pocklington, North Yorkshire will continue to manufacture TopPave’s range of wet-cast products.
