Leading the Way With Lighting
27/07/2005
A new range of low-voltage lighting for gardens and driveways is being introduced by Brett Landscaping and Building Products. The company sees the range as entirely complementary to the blocks and paving for which it is best known.
The lighting system, incorporating both post and floor level designs, is an attractive proposition for builders and garden landscaping contractors as it is based around a simple, click together system requiring minimal tools and no detailed electrical training.
Supplied in kits to include cabling and transformers, the Brett lighting range is most effective when used with simple lighting controls. Light sensors will turn lights on as the sun goes down or movement detectors will illuminate a driveway as a homeowner arrives.
Garden lighting is an underused commodity in the UK, but with more people wanting to use their gardens as additional living and entertaining space, a practical, cost effective system is well overdue. In Holland, where low-voltage systems have been available for some years, four out of ten new gardens will include a lighting system.
The floor level lights are designed to sit within a paved surface one design is recessed directly into the paving slab or block. Using either low voltage lamps or the incredibly efficient new LED technology these attractive fittings are strong enough to withstand most uses including a car driving over them. The 750mm high post lights have an attractive brushed aluminium finish and are ideal for lighting driveways and the entry to residential developments.
