Investment in our people

Brett employeeWe consider that it is our people and their performance that gives Brett our unique place in the minds of our customers.

We understand that the best people give the best service, both to our customers and stakeholders and to each other.

In order to ensure that we source and select the best people initially, we have developed a Recruitment Toolkit for our managers and team leaders to use in their recruitment and selection processes.

Our aim is to ensure our people have the tools, coaching and training to give their best performance. We encourage our people to develop new skills and to help this we ensure every employee has the opportunity to review their performance regularly with their manager. Brett employees

Many of our employees are undertaking or have completed long term NVQ or other qualification based programmes of learning to further improve their personal skills and knowledge. We have tripled the amount of training days received by our employees since 2003.

By helping you to raise your game, we are able to more than pay back our investment in you. Specifically, we see our people staying with us longer and providing even better performances year on year.

Treatment of others

Brett is committed to ensuring all of our employees are treated courteously, fairly and legally.

We operate both an equal opportunity policy and an anti-harassment and anti-bullying policy.

More specifically, our policies permit no discrimination in recruitment, selection or employment on the grounds of a person’s gender, race, marital status, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion or belief. We believe that a diverse workforce is both a creative workforce and a strong workforce. Brett employees meet

One of our key principles is to value people not their positions, which involves explicitly training and communicating with our managers and employees to treat people consistently regardless of the position that they may hold.

In addition, we consider that by treating all our employees fairly, legally and courteously, they will in turn reflect this in their treatment of others both within and outside our organisation.
