Granite Products is actively involved in the Jersey community, supporting a wide range of activities. For many years, Granite Products has supported Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, both through sponsorship and the donation of a range of products.
Founded by Gerald Durrell 50 years ago, Durrell is unlike a normal zoo as its primary focus is on protecting endangered species and global environments. To celebrate its 50th birthday, Durrell is opening a new meerkat enclosure, five times larger than their existing accommodation.
Granite Products provided hoggin and other quarried materials for the base of the new enclosure to help ensure that the meerkats don’t escape their new domain! Kevin Bowler, Director of Granite Products, commented “Durrells have been very successful in protecting endangered species and environments. We’re delighted to be able to help such a worthwhile cause.”
