Based predominantly in the East London and Home Counties areas Alan has spent the majority of his working life in the concrete and quarrying industry.
Following a brief spell with a local building contractor, Alan joined ARC (later to become part of Hanson) in 1973 .Over his 27 year ‘stint’ with the company Alan held a number of positions including Area Technical Manager and Area Operations Manager. Notable contracts supplied during this time were London City Airport and DLR.
In 2000 Alan joined Tarmac as Area Operations Manager before joining Brett Concrete in 2005 as Area Operations Manager for the London, Essex and Suffolk region. Alan has managed and overseen the growth of all 10 plants which annually produce in excess of 250,000 cubic metres of readymix concrete.
In addition Alan manages the fleet of Contract Hauliers and company vehicles across the whole of the Brett Concrete area.
Outside of work Alan enjoys playing badminton and golf and watching football and ‘live music’.
