Industrial - Project Phoenix, Duffy Construction
In the summer of 2008, Brett Concrete were presented with an opportunity that would turn out to become one of the largest single contracts secured by Brett in South Essex. Thanks to the strong relationships that Brett Concrete has developed, James Giles, Field Sales Manager, was in discussion with Duffy very early on in this project.
A solid relationship was developed with Jerry Barry, Site Manager at Duffy Construction, well before work began. Brett visited the site on a number of occasions to discuss requirements and to demostrate that we had the ability to meet the customers needs.
Work started in late June 2008 and was scheduled for completion in May 2009, with some 25,000m3 of concrete poured in an 11 month period. The concrete was being used to create a secure storage facility within a 54,000m2 warehouse at Basildon. With the majority of the contract taking place under cover, 'Project Phoenix' was one of the few that the weather couldn't delay.
James Giles commented "This has been a great example of what can be achieved through the building of relationships. Securing this contract when we weren't the most obvious contender was only the beginning. Since then the whole team at Basildon have consistently gone the extra mile to ensure that pours as great as 300m3 have been professionally executed in line with the customers needs. However even with the commitment of such a large contract we have still been able to meet the needs of our local customers as well".
