Westwood Cross Shopping Centre

Brett Concrete supplied O’Keefe Construction, working for Carillion on the Westwood Cross development that features names such as Marks & Spencer and Debenhams.

 

Work started on the project in March 2004. Daily deliveries were organised from Brett Concrete’s Broadstairs plant.

 

A challenge on this development was meeting the supply demand for the concrete for the floors needed whilst including steel fibres for extra strength. This meant that a conveyor system had to load the fibres into the back of the truck before mixing – all part of complying with current health and safety requirements.
