Safety, Health & Environment

With regard to our management of Safety, Health and the Environment (SHE), many of our sites have certification to the relevant standards, achieved through adoption of our integrated management system 'QHEST' which stands for 'Quality, Health, Environment & Safety Together'. By the end of 2006, nearly all areas of our business will be operating this system, with the relevant third party certifications.

 

Recycled products now account for nearly 20% of aggregates used in the UK and an upward trend is likely to continue. Brett Aggregates operates recycling partnerships in Kent, Surrey and West London and plans to further its recycling business by developing new operations in Buckinghamshire, Essex and East London. Inert waste products are imported, crushed and screened to produce sub base materials, including aggregates screened to Type 1 gradings.

 

Inert landfill and recycled products are now available at many of our operating units whilst our coating plants provide bituminous products throughout Kent and East Sussex.
