Relationships built on trust, confidence and continuity of supply are demonstrated by our partnership with the French company Carrieres de la Vallee Heureuse (CVH).

 

CVH has supplied, through Brett Aggregates, nearly three million tonnes of aggregates into the UK, the bulk of which has been used by Brett.

 

The initial idea was to import aggregates on small ships from the Port of Calais. CVH is a member of the Calais Chamber of Commerce and at any one time has a stockholding of up to 20,000 tonnes at the port.

 

CVH work closely with shipping companies such as Union Transport responding to orders from UK customers, of which Brett Aggregates supplies the lion’s share.

 

The aim was, and still is, to have arrangements that mean rapid responses to customers' requirements – but it is the longevity of the relationship rather than the volumes moved that is important.

 

This one has been going on for over 10 years. Jobs that have used CVH aggregates include the Iwade Bypass, Channel Tunnel, the Thanet Way and the A249 Sheppey Bridge development.
